What is the Port of Shenzhen?

The Chinese port complex of Shenzhen is rightfully considered one of the top ports in terms of development and cargo throughput. Moreover, for cargo recipients in Ukraine, this port, particularly the Shekou terminal from maritime service, is the closest to the port of Odessa, unlike the Guangzhou port, where containers arrive at the same Shekou terminal before heading to Ukraine, allowing for savings of transit time for our clients.

The Port of Shenzhen is located in deep-water territory.

Infrastructure facilities are located in the following bays:

  1. Yantian;
  2. Mawan;
  3. Chiwan;
  4. Shenzhen;
  5. Shixing;
  6. Fuyong;
  7. Heihe;
  8. Shekou;
  9. Xiadun;
  10. Dunciatou;
  11. Tak Chan.

There are 39 shipping line offices located in Shenzhen that transport goods by sea.

Port Characteristics

  • Total number of berths - 140.
  • There are 51 berths designated for heavily laden vessels (from 11,000 tons).
  • Shenzhen offers its clients a 21-feeder route to other ports and regions belonging to the Pearl River Delta.
  • The modern port cluster of Shenzhen includes a range of ports serving the needs of Guangdong Province, its developed infrastructure, and the high-tech and scientific industry.

The cluster includes the following ports:

Yantian (known as the "East");

The Dachan Bay, Shekou, and Chiwan bays form the "West."

Yantian specializes in container shipping by sea. It is a Chinese cargo dispatch center for exports, known for its low fees and operational costs. It is highly sought after by Chinese companies and foreign partners.

The Port of Shenzhen stretches along the 260 km coastline of the eponymous city. It is divided into East and West ports by new territories and the Kowloon Peninsula (Hong Kong).

As a modern and efficiently operating port with a huge cargo turnover, it is one of the most successful ports in China. Despite the fact that the cost of warehouse space near the Port of Shenzhen, particularly the Shekou terminal, is higher than in Guangzhou or other feeder ports, as a result, it allows for savings in transit time. We understand that LCL shipments should only be made through direct service to expedite delivery to the client.
